What Do Roots Do? by Kathleen V. Kudlinski and illustrated by David Schuppert is a factual, rhyming picture book which digs into the wonders of roots and the amazing things they do for trees, flowers, and all kinds of plants. Take a peek underground to see how different plants have different roots - cactus roots run out to the sides, while some tree roots go deep, deep down. Discover the path a raindrop takes right through a plant, and find out which roots we might be eating for dinner! At last, a celebration of those unsung heroes of plants: roots! 8 x 11", softcover, 24 pages.

Kathleen Kudlinski's first love was nature. She taught science in elementary school and is now the author of many nature books. She lives beside a deep, wild lake in Guilford, Connecticut.

David Schuppert is an accomplished artist and enjoys illustrating children's books. He lives in Taylors, South Carolina. The illustrations he shares in this book are magnificent and bring the "roots" to life for us and our children.
